About j-Computek Press
j-Computek Press, a new entry into desktop publishing, was created for Prof. Baker for his Internet-enabled academic content in the computational engineering sciences. His first text, “Finite Element Computational Fluid Mechanics,” published by Hemisphere in 1983, later acquired by Taylor & Francis, only last year went out of print. The undergraduate text “Finite Elements 1-2-3,” published by McGraw-Hill in 1991, vanished in 2001, which coincided with his move to the Internet academic venue.
On moving to Professor Emeritus, j-Computek Press provides to the engineering community the complete content of his Internet-enabled senior and graduate level academic courses in the computational engineering sciences. Text books include:
"The Computational Engineering Sciences," ISBN 0-9790459-0-8, 2006, soft cover, 267 pages:
• replaces/updates the 1991 text with extensive color graphics/animations supporting fully integrated hands-on computer experiments via Matlab® and the COMSOL® Problem Solving Environment (PSE). Includes a DVD containing all computer lab files and eight of Prof. Baker’s topical lectures viewable on your PC using RealPlayer.
"The Computational Fluid-Thermal Sciences," ISBN 0-9790459-5-9, ~2008, soft cover:
• now in draft, will replace the 1983 text with computational fluid dynamics-numerical heat transfer content extracted from dissertation research projects completed over the past decade or so.
Complete semester-length academic lecture archives, viewable on your PC via RealPlayer, including complete Courseware support materials are available on DVD sets. Touch “Our Titles” for descriptions of scope and content.
